Course Reserves: Students: Finding and Using Course Reserves

The management of items that are "reserved" for specific courses for a set period of time. This guide will ease you through the entire process.

About Course Reserves

Course Reserves are readings, some from the library's collection and some provided by instructors, that instructors have asked the library to provide to students for short-term use.

Items on reserve are available at the Circulation Desk and should be returned to the Circulation Desk.

The Course Reserves list also includes links to e-items.

If you don't see a title, it probably means your instructor did not provide a copy to the library. We will gladly accept a copy, so please ask your instructor to place a copy in the library.

Finding Course Reserves

There are two ways to search for Course Reserves.

  1. Click on the tab above called "Spring 2020 List" and search by your instructor's last name.
  2. Search for a title in Primo [New Window] using the "Library Catalog" in the drop down menu.

Loan Periods & Fine Information

Course reserves are available for either a 3-day borrowing period or for a 3-hour period for use in the library only. When you receive the item, you will be told its due date/time. A fine will be charged for items not returned on time.

Overdue Fines

  • 3-Day Loan – $10
  • Library Use Only – $1/hour, charged at the beginning of each hour overdue
