Learn How to Research: Research DIY for Faculty

Research DIY for Faculty

The videos above are just a few of the research how-to videos found in ProQuest Research Companion - a series of 10 learning modules covering the entire research writing process from identifying a topic, finding credible sources, and avoiding plagiarism.

Use ProQuest Research Companion to supplement and/or reinforce information literacy skills conveyed by the Library's Information Literacy Program tutorials and during librarian-led classroom instruction sessions.

DE Instructors

Direct students to the three ProQuest Research Companion learning modules: Find Information, Evaluate Information and Use Information, for self-paced learning of vital information literacy concepts. The learning modules allow students to cover all topics in a sequence, target those areas that they are unfamiliar with, or review areas in need of improvement. The embedded assessment provides evidence of their understanding of the basic concepts and proof of completion.

Tips for Using ProQuest Research Companion in the Classroom

  • Embed individual videos in your Laulima course site for just-in-time reinforcement of information literacy concepts.
  • To use the assessment feature students must create an account and sign-in when viewing the modules.
