"Voyager" Basics: Item Records

All you need to know about the Library's online catalog: searching for books and DVDs, placing holds on items, renewing items, viewing your account, and more!

Reading an Item Record

*The first section of an item record will show you basic information: the title, author, publication information, subjects associated with the item, and a summary. Clicking on any of the links will show you other items associated with that particular author/subject/genre.

Holdings Information

*The second part of an item record is the Holdings Information. Here, you'll find out what campus library has the item, the collection it is housed with, whether or not it is available, and its call number. A call number tells you the location of the book in the Library. Leeward CC Library follows the Library of Congress Classification system. For more information about reading call numbers and finding books on the shelf, see our call number guide.
